Subsidised Activity Training Places available at Glenmore Lodge in 2010 For over 60 years Glenmore Lodge has inspired adventure by teaching beginners, coaching intermediate/advanced and delivering training and assessment courses for leaders and instructors in a wide range of outdoor pursuits! Last year a number of volunteers in Scouting benefited from their Volunteer initiative which is sponsored by Glenmore Lodge and Grangers. The good news is that this year they are continuing their volunteer programme with subsidised courses available throughout the year You can check out the courses available on their website www.glenmorelodge.org.uk however examples of courses on offer are: · Trail Cycle Leader Training (2 days) · Summer Mountain Leader Training (6 days) · Walking Group Leader Training (an evening plus 3 days) · Climbing Wall Award Training (2 days) · Teaching Navigation (1 day) · Orienteering UKCC Level 1 Training (two days) · BCU UKCC Level 1 Training & Assessment (5 days) How do you apply? All you need to do is decide which course you would like to attend and complete the Application Form below and return it to Fiona at Scottish Scout Headquarters at Fordell Firs by Monday 21st December 2009 at the very latest, along with a recommendation from myself an ADC or the DC. In 2010 we have been allocated limited funding to pay for a percentage of the cost of these courses and SHQ Activity Advisers will select appropriate individuals to benefit from the funding. Once all the applications have been received they will be assessed on their merit and funding approved where successful. Successful applicants can then book a subsidised place on their chosen course at a date that suits. As easy as that!
