Scouts Event List

A District Patrol Leaders training course is being planned for 12-14th June 2009 at Lochgoilhead.  The weekend will revolve around the normal Lochgoilhead activity weekend, sailing, canoeing, climbing etc.  Our PLs will be getting to know each other & hopefully sharing experiences.  More formal PL Training will be slotted in to those endless gaps between activities, meals & bedtime. Training will be centred around the Patrol System and encouraging the re-establishment of Patrol Leader's Councils within troops.   I have booked the centre's brand new classroom & training facility.  Training sessions will be short & targeted, leaving plenty of time rest up (I said that with a straight face).  I hope to encourage more inter-troop activities, maybe even some joint camps or hikes with your neighbouring Troops?

 I have 24 spaces on offer, these will be allocated based on the number of Scouts within each troop.  Early expression of interest (by the end of January) would be very much appreciated.

 There are a couple of leader's spaces available, please let me know if you want to come along to help out. It will be hard work, but I hear the grubs a lot better this year.

 I have applied for some financial support and hope to keep costs to an absolute minimum, I know some of you are off to exotic places this summer & money will be tight. All centre fees, food, transport & training materials will be included.

 Please support this event.  Even if you are not keen on this type of thing, please pass it on to your PL's - they may surprise you!
